A crown is to restore a tooth back to its original form and function. It can be ceramic, porcelain, gold or a combination of metal and porcelain. Crowns can be placed on front teeth as well as back teeth.
How is this procedure done? The tooth or teeth are shaped to accommodate the crown such as a cap fits on your head. We make a temporary crown for you to wear while the laboratory makes the custom crown. An impression is taken of the tooth and gums and sent to the laboratory for their use. Your custom crown is placed in approximately two weeks.
